Jon Allen – Lady Of The Water

Lady Of The Water
In the cold, cold morning,
thought I heard you calling.
In the half-light just before
the dawning of the day.

Half awake and dreaming,
when untapped thoughts were streaming.
Thought I heard you telling me
you’ll take it all away.

At the turn of midnight,
in the burning far light.
Did I see your fragile figure
dancing in the flames.

Beyond the realms of reason,
untamed and out of season.
Could you be the missing key
that gives my need a name.

Lady of the water,
lead me to hallow ground.
Lady of the water,
take me where I long to be found.

My days are full of faces,
of racketeers and chasers.
I am looking for a drop of rain
in a street that’s full of sand.

The city can undo you,
cut its teeth right through you.
I’m looking for that open door
in the grace of your hand.

Lady of the water,
lead me to hallow ground.
Lady of the water,
take me where I long to be found.

In the cold, cold morning,
thought I heard you calling.
In the half-light just before
the dawning of the day.

Half awake and dreaming,
when untapped thoughts were streaming.
Thought I heard you telling me
you’ll take it all away.

Lady of the water,
lead me to hallow ground.
Lady of the water,
take me where I long to be found.
